DERRICK COX






​Derrick graduated from NIDA in 1984 and since has designed over eighty theatre productions. Many of these have been shows for children including Hi-5, touring Australia, New Zealand, Asia and England. For nine consecutive years Derrick designed, Christmas at the Opera House shows in the Concert Hall.

For MSTYP, Rumplestiltskin and The Little Mermaid. A recent project, the Australian premier of Blonde Poison, staring Belinda Giblin will be returning to The Sydney Opera House next year. He has designed many productions for Barry Humphries/Dame Edna shows including Return to My Roots, touring nationally and overseas. 

Numerous shows for the Hunter Valley Theatre Company and Ensemble Theatre. Other memorable production designs include Les Miserables(Pro/Am) , Chicago and Crown Matrimonial with June Salter. He has designed numerous corporate projects nationally. Derrick is also a scenic artist, not only painting his own sets but also many others for theatre, television, as well as corporate theatre, displays and exhibitions.
